Per NPR 7900.3D.10.5, vendor inspections shall be conducted for all Commercial Aviation Services (CAS) operators, aircraft, pilots, and maintainers.
NASA has a responsibility to ensure CAS aircraft are airworthy and aircraft operations are conducted safely. The airworthiness of aircraft shall be reviewed and approved by a NASA Center before flight operations occur.
