Purpose of Flight:Check
Comments:The was the first flight at Oliktok to check out the aircraft after reassembly and the integration of the payload. The landing pattern was optimized under autopilot control to enable a low final approach in case of decreased visibility on future landings. The aircraft was tasked to fly out the transit corridor to international airspace and back. 900 MHz comm was only good out to several miles, but the Iridium C&C link performed surprisingly well. A normal landing completed the flight. All required coordination of the activation of R-2204 restricted airspace, the altitude reservation (ALTRV) for the transit corridor, NOTAMs, filing the flight plan, notification of Deadhorse FSS and CTAF radio calls went smoothly.
