UPDATE (LaRC UC-12B)
- Plan to complete cabling, run chiller lines, and update paperwork Wednesday.
- Plan to be ready for Instrument Check Flight Thursday morning.

UPDATE: DC-8 landed in Anchorage ~ 0915L/departed around 1145L. Currently traveling @ 507 Knots/30500ft on its way to OsanAB.

UPDATE (Osan AB): KORUS-AQ personnel arriving @ Osan in NASA DC8: Upon landing, board the awaiting bus. It'll take u to the AMC terminal x customs/immigration. After customs/immigration, same bus will take you from AMC Terminal to the Turumi lodge.

Arrival at Osan AB:
Once you arrive and the aircraft is parked, you must pass through customs and immigration at the AMC terminal.  From there you will be bussed to the Turumi Lodge for check in.  ESPO will be taking groups over to the Base Badge Office adjacent to the lodge for badging.  Do not leave the airbase until you obtain a badge.  

NOTES: Remember even if you are on deployment you must keep these things in mind....
TOOL CONTROL = All Tools must be returned and signed off before each flight
INSPECTION = All Instruments must be secured and inspected before the flight.
Weight/Balance = A
nytime equipment is removed or installed on the aircraft it must be documented for weight and balance on the log sheet posted in the aircraft.

We have assigned a table for every two people (or two tables depending on the size of the team and specific requirements.) Every table has a sign with your instrument team on it, please stick to the plan until everyone has settled in, we do not have more room in the building to accommodate for extra tables/chairs. KORUS-AQ Mission Readiness Review is complete and we have the Official OK to proceed from NASA HQ
Critical Spares - Suitcases - Air Shipment departed at 0800 and is scheduled to be on an airplane tonight bound for Korea - ETA Osan AB 4/28

  • GFSC Ground-based Tropospheric Ozone Lidar trailer picked up from Osan AB and enroute to Taehwa Forest Research University.
  • GT-CIMS and K-CIMS instruments picked up from Osan AB and en route to Taehwa Forest & Olympic Park.
  • GeoTASO instrument cargo delivered to 1187.

Work on instruments continues in preparation for the #2 instrument flight on Thursday.

LaRC B-200:  (by Luci Crittenden)
Winds and visibility look good for the northern route of transit for the next few days, so the aircraft will leave Ames this morning and fly to Bellingham, WA for a refuel and then on to Anchorage, Alaska for the night.  Flight crew will sacrifice Hawaiian tropic suntan lotion for a feast of Alaskan salmon. Tomorrow’s leg should take them to Adak for the night.

Most instruments were stating that there were mostly operational.  Minor issues with many but claim to be fixable.  

Jack Dibb requested all instruments start to download data.

There is some discussion of possible afternoon aircraft access if the training ends early at the main AFRC campus.
