About
NASA's Earth Science Division (ESD) 2026 Cryosphere-Geosphere Investigator Meeting will provide NASA-funded researchers the opportunity to hear about recent updates with NASA Earth System Science Research (ESSR, formerly Research & Analysis, or “R&A”) and what this means for NASA's Cryosphere and Geosphere research programs. Overviews of the new Cryosphere and Geosphere elements can be found on the new ESSR website. This meeting will be hosted at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Greenbelt, MD from 15-17 September 2026 and will be open by invitation only to approximately 150 in-person participants.
Invitees will receive town hall style updates from all Division elements, as well as new programs and enabling capabilities for ESD. In addition, community-led breakout discussions will be held that will help chart the way forward for scientific research supported by the Cryosphere and Geosphere programs. Investigators will have an opportunity to present short lightning talks and share research priorities during thematic breakout sessions.
