Takeoff at 1005 PST; Landing at 1435 for a 4.5 hour mission. The ER-2 took off 5 minutes late because of Air Traffic Control. As during the first flight of AVIRIS-NG, the Q8 fail light started solid then flashed randomly during the entire flight – no discernible pattern. The random flashing would change during a turn. Over the southern part of Catalina, the clouds were few. The Ivanpah line was clear except for few clouds over the southern end. Tim flew the Ivanpah line at 70k feet. Tim noted many high clouds over southern California during descent but the sky was clear-to-few clouds over the targets. Tim Williams was the pilot. This flight completed the Flight Request 172024 in SOFRS.
