Comments: | The DC-8 sampled emissions & contrails behind an A320 burning blended biofuel #1 (50% Clean Jet A / 50% biofuel). Successful science flight with sampling obtained (mostly in the primary wake) at 27kft/M0.72, 32kft/M0.76&M0.80, and 38kft/M0.76&M0.80. The aircraft auto-pilot lateral axis was determined inop after takeoff. Other than that, the aircraft returned in good shape. Science instruments also did well. The project will take a day off from flying to enable science access and auto-pilot troubleshooting. |
