Purpose of Flight:Science
Comments:Yesterday was spent debugging some data management and fluxgate magnetometer issues. The magnetometer was replaced. Today's flight plan included a course around the entire perimeter of the valley and east-west transects from Cedarville north. Chase flew over from Alturas met up with SIERRA already airborne. After more than half of the perimeter flight line was completed, data from the magnetometer ceased. The aircraft was commanded to RTB and a normal landing was executed. The issue is under evaluation.
