Purpose: RADEX-15 Local Check Flight with EXRAD Comments: Flight 16-9015 successfully checked out the AMPR, CPL, CRS, eMAS, HIWRAP, EXRAD instruments in preparation for the deployment to Tacoma, Washington. Flight 16-9015 took off at 1105 local and landed at 1336 local (2.5 hours). The flight include the over-flight of buoys located off the California coast from Ventura in the south to Monterrey Bay in the north. Dean Neeley was the pilot. He reported the southern two buoys were clear of clouds, while the remaining northern buoys were covered by local broken clouds. The instruments all functioned nominally with no failure indications in flight.
