Purpose of Flight:Science
Comments:First research flight of the day. Flight plan, unchanged from last flight, was a track out to western NC to complete multiple legs SW-NE over the Boone NC mountains, followed by a transit to the RDU area and some turns over a boat taking measurements on Lake Jordon. Crew was Kagey, Wu. Conditions for the flight were good although there were clouds on the SW portion of the tracks. This required the tracks to be shortened to about half their length. Light turbulence over the mountains. We had fueled to the max possible today. Transit to RDU was uneventful and a single orbit was made over the boat's location. We landed at RDU for fuel.

Comments:Second flight of the day. Crew was Kagey, Wu. Take off from RDU VFR. Climb out to the west to allow instrument temperature to stabilize. Then completed single turn over Lake Jordon and the boat. Head back toward Langley via the planned route (which was to fly over multiple ground measurement sites). Flew leg at 3,500' for research. Nominal landing and shutdown at Langley. Researchers requesting next flight for Thursday, May 15th.
