WB-57 Flight Report for 7/16/02 1. The WB-57F flew a very successful mission today to characterize cirrus properties through the lifecycle of an isolated convective system. Much of the flight was flown in cirrus clouds near 40 kft. Legs were flown parallel to and perpendicular to cirrus-level winds for approximately 3.5 hours. Preliminary data show interesting cloud morphology and correlated compositional signatures of electrical activity in the system. The maximum altitude was 51 kft. There were no persistent fail lights during the mission. 2. Tomorrow is a no-fly day. Hands-on will be 0800-1200. 3. There will be a WB-57F team meeting at 1600. If you have a few plots of interesting data to present, please bring your vugraphs to the meeting. Marty and Dave
